Tokyo Tower 1-Tickets and Foot Town

My trip to the Tokyo Tower started a little late (at 5 pm) and since there was a Zōjō temple on the way, by the time I reached the tower the sun was already setting and I could have seen Tokyo lights by night.

About the Tower:
Tokyo Tower was built in 1985 and resembles Eiffel Tower, but is 13m taller. It was created during 50’ boom as a symbol of Japan’s modernity. The bright orange and white colours were forced by aviation safety regulations and are another thing the tower is known for. The landmark, apart from attracting tourists, is also used to broadcasts signals for Japanese media outlets.

There are two decks there: the main deck at the height of 150m and the special deck at 250m. it’s also worth noting that at the bottom of the tower there are four floors full of interesting places, called Foot Town.

Foot Town:
The access to Foot Town is free. What you can find there?

  • Tokyo Souvenir Shop Town- guess what’s there? Yup, souvenirs :)
  • Food Court- with places selling pancakes, pizza, burgers and typical Japanese food.
  • Aquarium Gallery- 50 000 ornamental fishes!
  • Tokyo ONE PIECE Tower- theme park. Inside Tokyo Tower. 4th floor ;)
  • Also, that's where you can buy tickets to the actual tower...
